Inkspell loves sharing a new release with our fans. Books are a gift as they draw readers into new worlds. Supernatural stories bring us to new adventures as we experience unique things. Events like time travel and flying cars are things we haven't experienced but ghosts... many people have.
In Kellie Wallace's Death Knows My Name, our heroine has supernatural experience which puts her on the radar for demons and evil. But where there is evil, there is good and she's got someone special on her side...Rafe.
Here's a sneak peek....
Aleida scanned the awning of the buildings on either side of her. “What about cameras?”
“Do you want to do my job, Ally?” Ted quizzed, perching his hands on his hips. “The techs have already checked and there aren’t any cameras pointing to this side of the street.”
“What was her cause of death?”
“The coroner needs more time to conclude cause.”
“Excuse me?” Ted came up beside her and placed his hand on the small of Aleida’s back, his subtle way of pacifying her. “There’s no discernible marks or abrasions on the body. It’s like the victim’s life was—”
“Sucked right out of her.” Rafe materialized in the alleyway, hands on his slim hips, the red-and-blue brilliance of police lights making him glow.
Ted narrowed his eyes. “Jenner, what are you doing here? I didn’t call you.”
“I was in the neighborhood.” He approached the victim with a cool nonchalance, and in doing so brushed Aleida’s shoulder. He shot her a sideways glance. “Did you see who did it?”
Aleida ignored the warmth radiating through her body. “A vision came to me, but I couldn’t see the suspect’s face.”
“Jenner, you’re not needed,” interjected Ted. “Why don’t you go home and you can discuss the case with Aleida in the morning?”
She knew Ted was standing next to her, his soft breathing echoing in her ear, but all she could see was Rafe. He was like the sun, possessing a galactic pull that drew everyone’s attention, blocking other distractions. She knew very few men who had the same ability, the power to persuade and seduce telepathically.
Rafe’s dark eyes appeared to flash like a cat’s when Ted swung his flashlight around and the hairs on the back of Aleida’s neck stood up. Rafe wasn’t human.
After the tragic drowning of her brother eighteen years ago, Aleida Fuller has lived her life communicating with the supernatural. She can see and speak to the dead, as if they were still walking the earth. Despite being welcomed in the spirit world, Aleida lives a closeted existence. Her reclusive mother refuses to accept her abilities and the local townsfolk think she’s a fraud.
When mysterious traveler Rafe Jenner arrives in town, Aleida’s dull life is irrevocably changed. He’s handsome, strange, and oddly alluring, with piercing eyes that turn red in the dark…
As Aleida and Rafe are teamed up to solve a crime for the Sheriff’s Office, a great evil lurks in the shadows. Bloodthirsty for Aleida’s soul, Hell-bound demon Albinus roams the earth, shedding blood and taking lives in search of her. He will stop at nothing until he gets what he wants. Aleida must draw on her physic abilities and her newfound alliance with Rafe to battle Hell’s agents before her soul is lost forever.
