Each time a new book arrives, it's a big deal. Authors have slaved over each and every word, wanting it to convey the right image and emotion. They've worked with editors, cover artists and have begged and pleaded for reviews. But finally the finished product is here... their book. No matter if this is the first book or the twentieth book, each one arrives with the same jubilation and excitement. One author described it as seeing your child for the first time, that feeling of awe and amazement. Today, Brian joins this family of authors with the release of Death's Name is Ira. We hope you will take a moment and enjoy Brian's hard work. This is a wonderful story of love and honor. One of our editors said it was the best story she's ever read. So sit down and relax as we share a little of Brian's accomplishment with you!! Love doesn't end after death... but dying certainly complicates things... For Ira Collins, death presented a far more purposeful alternative than life. Serving as one of the proud members of the Reaper Corps, he found meaning and fulfillment in the process of helping those who have died adjust to their new existence in the spiritual plane. For Ira, the work was so rewarding that it was even worth forgoing reincarnation for. However, when he is tasked with reaping the reincarnated soul of the woman he loved back when he was alive, Ira finds himself in a very difficult situation. Should he betray the Corps for the sake of the woman he loves, or live up to his responsibility to the rest of the reapers, and let her die? And as if this was not complicated enough, Ira must also help solve a disturbing mystery plaguing the spiritual plane, involving the disappearances of souls… EXCERPT: He was awoken rather suddenly in the middle of the night. The rain was still falling, though it seemed to have lessened somewhat. At the least, the thunder and lightning had stopped. Kareem rolled over narrowing his eyes, and trying to see through the night’s heavy darkness. He was not sure what had woken him from his sleep, but his heart was pounding again. Was it that voice? he wondered instantly, despite his earlier dismissal of the noise. He lay there, listening intently for the sound of the woman through the pitter-patter of the rain outside. Kareem waited for what felt like hours, unaware he was holding his breath until the pain in his chest forced him to inhale. Finally, just as he was about to give up and attempt sleep once more, a sound came from above him. It was not the moan of the woman this time… but footsteps. Footsteps… and what sounded like the sobs of a girl. Kareem lurched up from the foyer floor, his blood like ice. He was not alone. Whenever I think of death, I always find myself wondering what the afterlife would be like. I mean, I am left with so many questions. What do the people who have died do in the afterlife? Is it true that they do not get to recognize one another anymore even if they used to know each other here on Earth? What is it like there? Will we be able to remember what we did here on Earth or will we start a new life again? Comments are closed.
