Chase fell in love with Ryder. She's the girl he contacted to get rid of a poltergeist at his house. Turns out she liked him too. She even invited him along on her jobs to save the world. But did that mean, she liked him or she loves him? Sometimes Chase isn't too sure himself. Ryder has a little problem with relationships. She's been alone for so long, she's not quite sure herself how to handle things. But Chase won't allow it to stop him! He's determined to win her over...heart, mind and soul. Here's an excerpt from Never Fear the Reaper 2: The Bargaining... "You love me?" She whispers. I hunch over and relax. I can't believe I let those forbidden words slip out of my mouth in such a casual conversation; in a fight no less. First, I consider taking them back. Then I consider pretending like it didn't happen and continuing the argument. But finally, I man up and own up to them. "Well, yeah. Uh, yes I love you, Ryder. Now can you let me in a little bit more . . ." I choke back my final stipulation. She stares impassively forward. Yup, it's obvious she doesn't love me back. Great, I've lost another fight with her and I've humiliated myself. In the last twenty-four hours could I look like a weaker man? "I love you too." She squeaks out. "I feel like I have even before I met you. But you shouldn't love me, I'm no good for you." For the first time, she's more vulnerable than I am. For the first time, I can see the human girl left within her. For the first time, we're actually on the same page. So I aggressively take her face in my hands and kiss her.  They say, when one door closes another one . . . lets out a whole, hell fire of demons. However this is just another day in the lives of Chase and Ryder. For Ryder, death was only the beginning. But doing it over and over again can become a little redundant. The paranormal is the only thing she’s ever known, so adding a little romance to it, completely and totally throws her off. For Chase he's focused on getting a hold of his powers while falling deeper in love with Ryder. As if finding true love isn't hard enough, hell has its way of trying to put their romance on hold.
