Brooding Heroes #new_release #sexyheroes

8/9/2021

There is something about a brooding hero. A guy who doesn't know his worth but is willing to give you the shirt off his back. The one who would rather curl up with a good book than go out dancing. Maybe he's the quiet type but he's only got eyes for you. He doesn't flirt with your friends or check out the waitress. He's shy and enjoys those late-night chats.

Ben Baxter is just that kind of guy! He's an artist who writes best-selling graphic novels. He's more comfortable at home than out with his brothers at the bar. And FINALLY we get his story! He's been showing up in their books, giving his brothers a swift kick to the head when it comes to relationships... and now Ben finds his own happy ending!

Blurb:
On her last chance to prove herself at her mother’s publishing company, Kat Dunne is given the job no one wants – handling their most impossible client. Assigned to tag along with a writer on his upcoming North American tour, she quickly finds why no one else wanted the job. Ben Baxter is grumpy, awkward, and downright mean. He’s also the hottest man she’s ever laid eyes on and as his walls start to crumble, so does her resolve to remain professional, and her chance to keep her job.

Broody and irritable graphic novelist, Ben Baxter doesn’t want to go on a book signing tour and sure as hell doesn’t want a company chick tagging along. Especially one that lights a fire in him every time he looks at her. He can see right through Kat Dunne and the lie she’s trapped in. She no more belongs in the business world than he does in a designer suit and if it’s the last thing he ever does, he’ll prove to her dreams are worth following. Even if it costs him his publishing contract.

EXCERPT:
“Kat,” he said again, lifting her chin with his fingers as he had the night before, but this time, goddammit, he was going to taste her. He ran his thumb across her bottom lip, pulling a sigh from deep within her. The moment she closed her eyes, he closed the distance, drawing her into a kiss, lightly at first, and then as if he had caught fire from within, he demanded entrance to her mouth. She freely gave it to him, letting out a tiny mewl that made his cock harden instantly.

The entire elevator car seemed to tilt sideways as he delved into her mouth, his tongue sliding against hers, trading breath until they were gasping. He slipped his hand down her neck and moved dangerously lower as he kissed her. To his delight, she was open to him, her chest rising into his like she wanted more, like she needed more. Growling, he pressed into her, sighing when the length of her body crushed soft and warm against his. There was no way she could mistake his arousal, but instead of being turned off, she pressed into it, making his brain alight with desire. All he could think about now was making her his.

Had the ride to their floor been any longer, Ben would have shimmied her skirt up over her hips and pushed into her like an animal, but the bell announced their arrival far before he was ready to be finished.

He pulled away from her and she stared up at him, her pretty brown eyes sparkling with desire, her lips kiss-swollen and wet from his exploration. He desperately wanted to continue, to take her hand, lead her to his room, and make love to her until she cried out.

But the moment they stepped off the elevator car, whatever heat had been swirling around them dissipated.
