Readers certainly have opinions on books. They either love them or hate them. One of the things that readers notice is whether the book is in first person or third person. First person stories are told from the characters' point of views. These use I, Me, My and the reader can only understand what the character is feeling and thinking. They can't get into another person's head.

Author Julie Navickas has taken her award winning books and done something unique. She's rewritten them in first person point of view. This allows readers a deeper understanding of the characters' motivations and delves deeper into their emotions. Finding Love is the second book in the Clumsy Little Hearts trilogy and this time readers can feel those insecurities and heartbreaks of Miguel and Rachel. Out now in hardcover, paperback and ebook, you will want to grab this story and fall in love with their romance.

Blurb:
This new first-person rewrite brings you closer than ever to Rachel and Miguel—more intimate, more vulnerable, and tangled in past heartache neither of them is ready to confront. You’ll feel every spark, every fragile moment of trust, and every devastating turn as they risk their hearts on a love neither believed they would find.

Rachel Prescott has always fallen for the wrong men. Every relationship begins with hope and then ends with “nope”—until Miguel Rodriguez, the handsome new owner of Pier Ninety-two, finds her drowning her latest dating disaster in a bottle of wine.

Miguel knows what it means to love the wrong person, too. Haunted by a past he can’t escape, he has only the fractured pieces of his heart left to offer. But Rachel—with her sharp wit, stubborn streak, and undeniable fire—makes him wonder if those pieces might be enough.

Over mushroom ravioli and a bottle of wine—or two—their connection becomes impossible to ignore. But the closer they grow, the harder it becomes to hide the old wounds threatening everything they’re building.

To find the love they both deserve, Rachel and Miguel must decide whether they’re brave enough to let go of the past—or risk losing each other before their future can begin.

Best-selling and award-winning author Julie Navickas delivers a heartfelt story about imperfect people, second chances, and discovering that the wrong turns in life can sometimes lead you to exactly the right person.

EXCERPT
“Should I put in an appetizer while you wait?” he asks.

And a laugh escapes me. “Oh, twist my arm.” I grab the menu. “If I’m going to get stood up, I might as well enjoy some calamari while it happens.”

Heat creeps into my cheeks as the waiter offers a sympathetic smile. “Happens to the best of us.” And while it’s sweet of him to try, I sincerely doubt that. “I’ll put the order in.”

He disappears into the kitchen and I scoop up my second glass of wine, letting the alcohol soften the sharp edges of my embarrassment and loosen the knot between my shoulders. Then I open Bumble again. Because if Tripp wants to ghost me, he can at least have the decency to confirm it.

Me: I have a sneaky suspicion I’m being stood up, Tripp Erickson. At least tell me now before I spend a hundred dollars on drinks, appetizers, and dinner for my party of one.

I snort at my own wit as I mutter, “Party of one” like I’m funny.

“Party of one, huh?”

A deep male voice jolts me so hard I nearly drop my phone. My head snaps up. And mortification floods every inch of my body. “Sorry,” I mumble as I squeeze my eyes shut. “I must look like a complete idiot.”

“And why’s that?” The warmth in his voice forces me to meet his gaze. And dark brown eyes meet mine as a crooked grin tugs at his lips. The soft restaurant lighting casts a golden glow across his tanned skin as he rubs the back of his neck.

Unexpected butterflies take flight inside my stomach as I choke out, “Oh, just ignore me.” I laugh nervously and cover my face with both hands. “I'm kind of a disaster right now.”

“Nonsense.” His smile widens. “You’re the prettiest woman in this restaurant I have the pleasure of disappointing tonight.”
